The back, is formed of two pieces of quarter cut maple holding a medium width flame descending slightly from the joint. The ribs are of tighter flamed wood than that of the back, with the scroll being of wood of yet tighter flame than the wood of the ribs.

The top is of spruce, in two pieces, of even, medium width grain. The varnish is a light orange brown over a golden ground, shaded and antiqued.
